Corey is a veteran, 15 year, public high school teacher who taught in Virginia and currently teaches 11th – 12th grade at James Campbell High School in Ewa Beach, HI.  He is National Board Certified in Social Studies.  Shane has taught for 10 years in Iowa, Virginia, and currently teaches 9th- 12th grades in Oklahoma.  Corey and Shane strongly believe in active learning.  They feel that it is shameful that too many teachers are given not much more than a list of state standards and a textbook by which to engage students in the social studies.  They created Teacher Lesson Plan Warehouse because they believe in true, active learning, and they hope to share it with more teachers.  In the past, peer teachers would see Corey’s lessons being done and would want to do them in their classrooms.  The problem was that all that was recorded for a given lesson plan was some squiggly notes in messy handwriting.  Shane suggested that they be compiled into a book.  After a few years “History is Fun!” was born.  It was a painful process at times, but they are proud to say that over 200 schools are now using the “History is Fun!” curriculum.  Plans are being made to add to the “Fun!” in Government, Sociology, Psychology and World History.

“We hope you benefit richly from implementing our activities into your classroom.  We use our own lessons daily and are in the process of creating more.  Thanks for your support!  If you have comments or questions please contact us at
